LAWYERS OF the district collectorate and Civil Court staged dharna at the district magistrate office and abstained from routine work in support of their demands to arrest nayab tehsildar of Khajani in a case of manhandling president of the Khajani Bar Association Arvind Tiwari. Presiding over the dharna, Radheshyam Shukla blamed the nayab tehsildar of misbehaving with lawyers and said it was the pride of lawyers’ at stake, hence, there would be no compromise.
Expressing his views on the occasion president of the Civil Court Bar Association Madhusudan Tripathi demanded that district officials arrest nayab tehsildar as a case has been launched against him on order of court under section 323, 504, 506 and 392 IPC. He said the soft attitude of district and police administration against nayab tehsildar had caused serious resentment among lawyers.
The incident of scuffle between Arvind Rai and his supporters with nayab tehsildar on Friday over a minor issue had brought lawyers and the tehsil employees at loggerheads. The stand-off affected normal functioning in tehsil and the lawyers community in the entire district.
