LIGHTNING WREAKED havoc in rural areas of Bhopal district on Thursday killing three persons, including a woman and injuring over half-a-dozen persons.

The lightning struck in Berasia and Nazeerabad areas leading to death of cattle including buffaloes and goats. The first incident occurred in Kolukhedi village in Nazeerabad where farmers working in the fields had taken shelter under a shed of one Manmohan when rains came.

The lightning struck the area causing death of Jagannath Singh, 50, and Mithulal Silawat, 30. Both died on the spot. Those who were injured included Manmohan, 27, Bablu, 22, Rajni, 20 and Anjali, 17. The cattle that perished included a bull, three goats and a buffalo.

Meanwhile, Sumitra, 40, wife of Karan Singh, died
