Lightning claims two lives

LIGHTNING CLAIMED two lives, one each in Guna and Ashok Nagar district on Saturday. A few others were injured, it was reported.

LIGHTNING CLAIMED two lives, one each in Guna and Ashok Nagar district on Saturday. A few others were injured, it was reported.

Guna Superintendent of Police, Devprakash Gupta said a tribal boy Luharya Bhilala, 12 died when lightning struck Simrod village under Bamori police station in Guna on Saturday. He was brought to district hospital late evening where he breathed his last.

In Gehukhera village, Sultan Singh,32 was injured when electric wire fell on him due to heavy wind last night. He was admitted to district hospital. Former district panchayat member Man Singh Parsoda said the electric wires laid in Gehukhera village were 25-year-old and has urged State electricity board to change the wiring.

MLA from Mungawali Vidhan Sabha constituency in Ashok Nagar, Gopal Singh Chouhan said Pappu Ahirwar (26) died on the spot when lightning struck in Larairi village in Chanderi development block on Saturday. Besides, a youth, Bharat, 18, was injured due to lightning. He was admitted to district hospital, he added.
