Love triumphs in the court of justice

NEHA BROKE into tears and bowed to the judge. Her husband too mumbled his thanks. And why not? The court upheld their marriage and rejected her father?s claims against the same. The villains had tried every Bollywoodian trick to separate them and marry off Neha. But, love prevailed. And where? In the court of justice. They could hardly believe that a moment could give back their lives. Neha married Kapil on May 17 last against her father?s wishes. The marriage was registered on May 27 this year.

And why not? The court upheld their marriage and rejected her father’s claims against the same.

The villains had tried every Bollywoodian trick to separate them and marry off Neha. But, love prevailed. And where? In the court of justice. They could hardly believe that a moment could give back their lives.

Neha married Kapil on May 17 last against her father’s wishes. The marriage was registered on May 27 this year. But, the girl’s father was against the marriage, held her captive, got her engaged to some other person and even got Kapil’s father and brother jailed after registering a fake case against them.

But, on Monday court put an end to injustice and asked authorities to look after the couple’s safety and security. Additional Government Advocate (AGA) Suniti Sachan assured the court of 100 per cent compliance.

Neha is relaxed. But, she would never forget that how she had to run away from her father’s captivity to appear in the court.

Earlier, Balkeshwar Srivastava, a lawyer of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, appeared before Justice Rakesh Sharma and pleaded that the petition of his client, Kapil Verma, scheduled to be heard on July 28 might be heard today on July 24.

The lawyer submitted that the wife of his client had been illegally detained by her father Girish Chandra in Sandila in district Hardoi. The client had filed a Habeas-Corpus petition on which the high court had directed him to produce the girl on July 28.

The girl’s father, however, lodged an FIR on July 22 last against Kapil and his family members. His father and brother were arrested and sent to jail. Justice Sharma allowed the request and the case was heard. It was at this juncture that RN Gupta, counsel for the father appeared before the court and submitted that the girl was not in a proper mental condition to give her statement.

But, she said that she was perfectly fine mentally and stood first in high school and intermediate. She informed the court the whole story of illegal detention, torture by his father plan to marry her off.

Justice Sharma, before passing final order observed, “It is strange to note that police have come into action at the instance of Neha’s father, Girish Chandra and family members. Two of the family members were arrested and coercive measures taken against Kapil’s family. This is as good as trampling on the right of two citizens of India who knew each other for the last eight years.”
