A low pressure has formed in the Bay of Bengal and under its influence rains were likely in parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours starting 8.30 am on Sunday.

The low pressure was now lying over west central and adjoining north west Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh and Orissa coast, Met officials in Chennai told PTI.
Under its influence, isolated light to moderate rain was likely to occur over the state and Puducherry, they said.
Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea as the strong offshore winds from southwesterly to westerly direction reaching 45-55 KMPH would sweap along off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast in the next 24 hours.
Isolated rain or thundershowers were likely in Chennai city in the next 24 hours, they said.
The city recorded seven mm of rainfall during the last 48 hours ending 8.30 am on Sunday.
