MA student raped repeatedly by 47 year old man in Haryana

A 23 year old unmarried girl from dalit community has accused a 47 year old man of repeatedly raping her for last three years at Ateli town of Narnaul, Mahendragarh district. Sat Singh reports.

A 23 year old unmarried girl from dalit community has accused a 47 year old man of repeatedly raping her for last three years at Ateli town of Narnaul, Mahendragarh district.

The accused has been identified as Mahender Yadav, a resident of Mahendragarh district.

Police have arrested the accused on Wednesday after registering a case under 376 (rape), 323 (assault), 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and section 3 of the SC/ST Act.

The victim, an MA student, told police in her statement that she was taken by the accused to a place in Rajasthan three years back. He raped her there and had been blackmailing her since then.

Police said that she approached the women cell of police last week and subsequently a case was registered.

"The victim and accused used to work in a private firm. She had been living in a rented room at Ateli and the accused had visited her frequently," police said.

Victim said that she was forced to undergo an abortion in the past after she got pregnant.
