Watching the live telecast of the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening, Gayetri Debi said, "I am happy that she has become a minister again. Last time (in 2004), she was alone (as a lone MP of Trinamool Congress). But today, she has gone to Delhi with so many MPs."

Gayetri Debi said from their residence at Kalighat where she watched the ceremony with other members of her family that she had prayed for her daughter.

"I hope she will fulfil the people's aspirations. Fulfillment of people's aspirations will be fulfilment of my desires," she said.

"This is not only a victory of the Trinamool Congress, but also the victory of the people," she added.
