Man gets ten yrs in jail for raping minor

A local court here has awarded ten years of imprisonment to a man after holding him guilty of raping a minor girl in Hansi town in Hisar.

A local court here has awarded ten years of imprisonment to a man after holding him guilty of raping a minor girl in Hansi town in Hisar.

Additional District and Sessions of Hisar Madhu Khanna Lali convicted Mohinder Kumar, a resident of Mandi Sainian, Hansi on Thursday.

Besides, the accused was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 and in case of default he would further undergo an imprisonment of one month.

According to the complaint, Mohinder, a neighbour of victim, came to her house when she was alone on April 16, 2012. He asked her to accompany him to Nahar Kothi, nearby place, where her mother was waiting for her.

When she reached there, he forcibly took her in a car to an unknown location and raped her, as per the complaint.

After committing the crime, he abandoned the victim at Nahar Kothi.
