He then allegedly strangled her with a skipping rope and had sex with the body. The incident came to light when the children found their mother's body lying on the floor. They informed relatives who in turn alerted the police.

Subash was later arrested, police said adding that the couple had been married for ten years and quarreled frequently. They were both workers.
