Manager, 2 others booked for fraud

THE SHAHJEHANABAD police registered a case of fraud against three persons, including State Bank of Indore Shahjehanabad branch manager.
According to police, Meenakshi Wadhwani approached the police with the complaint that the accused, Zahid Khan, in connivance with some employees of the bank, cheated her.
Wadhwani had sold a plot to Zahid and the registry was transferred in his name but the banker’s cheque of Rs 5 lakh, which he gave to her, bounced.
The bank refused to pay the amount and some employees allegedly asked the complainant to surrender the cheque to them and even negotiate with Zahid. Acting on the complaint, the police booked Zahid Khan, bank manager Pawan Vijayvargiya and another bank employee Jaya Phulmare for fraud and criminal conspiracy under the Sections 420 and 120 (B) of the IPC.
