Manmohan to reach Chennai on Jan 7

The PM will have discussions with the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry to discuss tsunami relief operations.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have discussions with the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry at Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Friday on the relief and rehabilitation of the tsunami victims in these states.

He would also call on DMK President M Karunanidhi at his residence on Friday evening to enquire about his health.

Karunanidhi was discharged from the corporate Apollo Hospital in Chennai recently, where he was admitted following complaints of back pain.

The Prime Minister would leave for Port Blair on Saturday morning after an overnight stay in Chennai, official sources said.
