Many candidates file nomination papers

DISTRICT COLLECTORATE was abuzz with hectic political activities on second day for filing of nomination papers for local bodies and municipal corporation election.

The supporters reached at district collectorate in large processions with their supporters and party banners where the entry of the vehicles was ban.

Therefore, all the four wheelers and two wheelers brought here with processions were parked on both side of the road which had thrown traffic movement out of gear.

On Tuesday, two nomination papers were filed for Mayor post Pawan Singh has filed his nomination papers an independent candidate while Mohd Islam filed his papers as National Loktantric Party candidate. On Thursday, SP candidate Sitaram Jaiswal and possible candidate of BSP Chhedi Jaiswal would file his nomination papers.

The filing of nomination papers for corporators over 70 wards in the corporation had also pick up the pace, on the second day 70 nomination papers were filed by the candidates from various wards. The aspirant of corporators tickets from political parties had not mentioned the name of their party.

Meanwhile, joint commissioner for state election commission PC Gupta had directed all the district magistrate to allot the registered political parties symbols to the candidates who had submitted the authority letter duly issued by the state party president or secretary of respective political parties.

Meanwhile, small political parties had also criticised to contest the municipal corporation election. City unit president of Rashtriya Lok Dal Rajanikant Sharma said that the party would file 50 candidates in various parts while 20 seats had been left for like-minded parties. He said party had decided to extend their support to Janardhan Singh Sainthwar for mayoral post.

On October 5 around a dozen party candidates would file their nomination papers. Mishra further said that party would issue the election manifesto for corporation election.
