The incident took place at 8am while the supervisors were on their way to the Manesar plant - MSIL plant - near Honda Motorcycles and Scooters factory.

Their bus was intercepted by a group of 20-25 striking workers, who blocked the way using a motorcycle. Thereafter, they beat up the supervisors with wooden logs injuring them on the head and back.

"This was another desperate measure by the striking workers, using violence and fear. Three of the injured supervisors have been admitted to Artemis Hospital. Eight others were taken to the company's medical centre," said a MSIL official, adding that Dhiraj Soni, a worker involved in the attack had been arrested.

"By such violent acts, the workers have polluted the environment of Manesar. Such actions are damaging the industrial climate and will destroy jobs and prosperity in the region," he said.

On Wednesday, Maruti Suzuki had dismissed five workers who had assaulted three supervisors and a worker last Friday.
