The MCD's drive to collect property tax arrears saw more action on Wednesday, with the civic body attaching the accounts of six more Delhi University colleges.
The civic body issued auction notices to as many as 50 residential and commercial properties.
The civic body attached the bank accounts of Vivekananda College, Bhagat Singh College, Motilal Nehru College, Rajdhani College, Zakir Hussain College and Mata Sundri College, a senior MCD official said.
While Vivekananda College owes MCD property tax arrears to the tune of Rs 1.9 crore, Bhagat Singh College has to pay Rs 1.6 crore, Motilal Nehru College Rs 1.4 crore, Zakir Hussain College Rs 85 lakh, Rajdhani College Rs 49 lakh and Mata Sundri College owes Rs 47 lakh.
The MCD had issued notices to these colleges earlier.
Earlier, the MCD had attached the accounts of Desh Bandhu College, Dayal Singh College, Kamala Nehru College, St Stephen's College, Kirorimal College, Hindu College, Sri Ram College of Commerce and Hansraj College.
