Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pradesh Congress Committee chief Subhash Yadav and leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi are among those slated to address party workers during the meet.

After the assembly, the Congressmen will march in the form of a rally to the Divisional Commissioner’s office and submit a memorandum in support of their demands.

In a statement issued here, City Congress president Pramod Tandon declared that Saturday’s meet would play an important role in converting the ongoing struggle against the BJP regime into a ‘decisive battle’.

Tandon charged that irregularities at the State and City level had marked the saffron government’s tenure. Instead of addressing longstanding grievances like water supply, sanitation and lack of roads, the BJP-ruled IMC General Council was busy lining its own pockets.

“In Indore the plastic tree scandal, the JCB scandal, the borewell scam and the Meghdoot Garden land scam are living testimony of the IMC council’s corrupt ways,” declared the Congress chief.

Tandon appealed to party workers and members of the general public to ensure the programme’s success by turning out in large numbers.
