Meira Kumar to address HP assembly on Oct 21

Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar will address a special session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on October 21, as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the assembly. Kumar will arrive here on October 20 and deliver her address the next day, said sources in the assembly.

All MLAs and former MLAs had been invited for the occasion, they said.

The council chamber, housing the assembly, has been given a facelift and elaborate arrangements and cultural programmes have been planned for the occasion.

The golden jubilee celebrations started on May 24 this year when President Pranab Mukerjee addressed the assembly.
