College administrations argue that the LU has not given them any fee taken from the students while the LU states that as per rules, colleges should not charge any additional fee from students who have gained admission directly through LUMAT.
The parents of one upset student said, his son was admitted to the BBA course at a college. “And, now, after having given a demand draft of Rs 13,500 to the LU, we’re being asked by the college to pay an additional fee of Rs 9,000 as admission fee, caution fee and other charges. Had I known about this, I would have thought of some other alternative for my son.”
The college administrations, however, blames the varsity. A principal of one such a college said, “If a student is seeking admission to our college then why should the varsity take the bank draft of Rs 13,500? The entire money should come to us!”
He said, “ I really feel sorry for the student but the LU has not specified how much money they will give us and by what time will this money reach our college. They have not even given the proper break-up of the salary as of yet.”
