Date of Birth: November 27, 1980, Pembury, Kent
ODI Debut: Against Pakistan at Nottingham in 2006

Michael Yardy reminds of Andrew Strauss by his style of play.

His rite of passage was against the Bangladeshis at Hove, where he scored 257 - the highest score by a Sussex batsman against a touring team. Continuing his good form in the 2005 season he was finally selected for the England A tour of West Indies.

Although he lacked form abroad his performances on the county circuit have done enough to earn him a place in England's 30-man squad for the Champions Trophy.
