An earthquake of moderate intensity shook the Indo-Bangladesh border region early on Sunday, the Met Department said in New Delhi.

The quake, measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale, struck at 0216 IST and was epicentered at 24.4 degree north latitude and 92.8 degree east longitude, it said.
Details of casualty or damage were not immediately known.
