Militant killed in encounter
A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forests of Kangan in Ganderbal district of Kashmir, a police spokesman said here today.

A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forests of Kangan in Ganderbal district of Kashmir, a police spokesman said here today.
A joint operation was launched by police and 24 Rashtirya Rifles of Army last night in the Satharuna forest area of Kangan following specific information about presence of militants in the area, the spokesman said.
He said one militant has been killed in the operation which was still going on.
