Unidentified militants exploded a powerful grenade at the house of a Manipur government official but no casualty was reported, police said on Saturday.

The militants lobbed the grenade at the house of the director of youth affairs and sports department W Bobby near Imphal on Friday.

The official was not at the house at the time of the explosion.

Police said they would investigate whether it was connected with monetary demand from the official.
