Minor boy attacked with acid over property dispute

Police on Wednesday booked a man on a charge of attacking his minor nephew with acid over property dispute at Chotti Garhi village near Sonepat's Ganaur town.

Police on Wednesday booked a man on a charge of attacking his minor nephew with acid over property dispute at Chotti Garhi village near Sonepat's Ganaur town.

The accused has been identified as Ramdhari Singh, 50. The victim, Neeraj Kumar, 14, was on his way to a field in the village to meet his father when Singh allegedly threw acid on him. On raising the alarm, Neeraj was rushed to Khanpur Kalan medical college. Doctors said the victim had received burn injuries on stomach and hands.

The victim reportedly told the police that the two families had a property dispute and Singh might have attacked him to settle scores.

Station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector Davinder Singh said the accused had been booked under Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused was not arrested till the filing of the case.
