Minor raped in Jind

According to details, the victim had gone to agricultural fields with her mother to collect fodder. The accused, who was hiding behind a tubewell located in agriculture fields pounced on the victim, when she came to fetch water for her mother. The mother of the victim reached the spot after her daughter did not return for about 20 minutes.

Police said the accused fled the spot after committing the crime. A case under Section 376 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and efforts were on to nab him, police said.
