The alumni will review the tasks defined during the last convention under the Vision-2025 for MNNIT. To warm-up, a pre-convention meet has been organised by the MNNIT Lucknow Chapter on September 9-10, 2006 where old faculty members will be felicitated. They will also be discussing the agenda for the convention.
Secretary MNNIT Alumni Association Prof Rakesh Narain said that the alumni association members were lobbying to bring about the much needed changes to keep MNNIT at par with best institutes across the world.
In the last convention held on December 24, 2005, the Director of MNNIT and president of the MNNIT Alumni Association put forward a short term plan upto 2011 on his own observations and suggestions for the alumni. The director also presented the long-term plan in the form of the Vision -2025.
"The Technology watch group was formed to keep a watch on the major technological developments across the globe and to bring the technologies to the MNNIT with complete details of requirements like infrastructure and manpower. Community service cell, society cell, women uplift cell, knowledge management cell, Hindi development cell and many others to achieve the targets set for different fields", said Prof Narain.
The alumni association decided to raise their own funds to meet out the financial requirements for accomplishment of different tasks under the Vision-2025.
The members would take a view of the works being undertaken by the different cells and would discuss about funding to the projects undertaken as a part of the Vision-2025.
"We have started the work in different fields and the panel will take a comprehensive view of the reports to be submitted by the different cells during the convention", said Prof Narain.
