The battery of a mobile phone allegedly exploded on Sunday while being charged at a shop in Begumganj, around 80 kms from Raisen, police said.

The battery of a mobile phone allegedly exploded on Sunday while being charged at a shop in Begumganj, around 80 kms from Raisen, police said.

According to the police complaint lodged by Vicky Jain, the battery of his cellphone Nokia 1100 exploded this afternoon while he was charging it at his electrical appliance shop, Begumganj police station in-charge Mangal Singh Thakre told reporters.

However, no one was injured but several pieces of furnuiture, including a showcase, were damaged in the explosion, he added.
