Modi says he wants 1,600 policewomen from North East for Gujarat
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sought English-speaking policewomen from the North Eastern states for communicating with foreign tourists in his state. He asked for 1,600 policewomen for posting in Gujarat for two years.
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sought English-speaking policewomen from the North Eastern states for communicating with foreign tourists in his state.
Recalling that at a meeting of chief ministers in Delhi, he had sought 200 policewomen from each of the eight NE states for posting on deputation for two years in his state, he regretted "...but nobody sent me those personnel.... Today I again invite all the North East states to send me those 200 policewomen from each state."
He sought 1,600 policewomen for posting in Gujarat for two years.
Modi said that the posting of the policewomen in his state would lead to their families visiting Gujarat while people from Gujarat could visit the NE which would lead to national integration.
