Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a 51-hour hunger strike on the Sardar Sarovar dam height issue, on Monday said the Centre should take a sharply defined decision on the matter.

The Centre should take a clear-cut decision on the dam height; there is no clarity about the stand taken by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue, Modi said.

The Gujarat CM began his fast at 2 pm on Sunday protesting against any move to stop raising of the height of the dam.

The matter is expected to be clear when the Supreme Court hears a petition later in the day regarding the people displaced due to the dam, he said addressing party workers.

On rehabilitating the displaced people, he said the issue should be taken up for consideration.
