THE QUICKFIRE century by Mohnish Mishra today helped BSNL win Sanchi Trophy cricket tournament that concluded at Old Campion Ground. This was the second cricket tournament the BSNL won on the trot in one month.

In the final match, BSNL registered a thumping 137 run victory over Mantralaya. Interestingly, BSNL defeated the same Mantralaya team in the final match of the Kamal Majhi Memorial cricket tournament that was held recently at the same venue.

It was an easy decision for BSNL skipper Suresh Chenani to bat first after he was called right at the toss. Batting first, BSNL batsmen scared the Mantralaya team by demonstrating ruthless blade show.

Studded with the starts like Mohnish Mishra, KD Gupta and others, BSNL team scored the highest score of the tournament. Scoring ten runs per over, BSNL team piled up 255 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Mohnish Mishra’s scintillating performance was the attraction of the final match. Such was his ruthless batting that he completed his century off just 45 deliveries that included five sixes and 15 boundaries. KD Gupta scored 49 runs.

In reply, Mantralaya batsmen fell like ninepins. The lethal bowling by Suresh Chenani and Kailash Bhatia restricted Mantralaya team’s total to 117. Both claimed three wickets each for BSNL team.

OSD, Bhopal Dugdh Sangha (BDS), DK Rai, who was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony, distributed prizes to the winning team. Speaking on the occasion, BDCA vice-president Aruneshwar Singhdeo congratulated BDS for organsing a successful event. Chairman BDS Dharam Singh Verma, DGM BSNL Sandip Sharma, DGM BDS MC Bansal, MK Bhatnagar RK Tiwari and others were present.
