DAZZLING PERFORMANCE today by Mohsin Hasan of IPC XI ensured his team’s ten-run win over strong Irani Club in the All India Mayank Chaturvedi Memorial Cricket Tournament being organised at Old Campion Ground. Mohsin was adjudged HT Man of the Match.

Once again, Mohsin, through his impressive batting, made IPC winner in a keenly-fought contest. The decision of Irani Club to invite IPC to bat first after winning the toss went wrong when the bowlers failed.

Even after sending back the opening pair cheaply, the Irani bowlers failed to capitalise upon the opportunity of harnessing the moisture available in the wicket in the morning.

Mohsin, who came to bat one down, once again took the onus upon himself to pull the team out of morass. When the team reached 15, its two openers had gone. Mohisn, through his gusty 103 helped the team in setting a 208-run target in 40 overs. His innings contained nine boundaries.

Sohail Masood and Aqueel contributed 33 and 35 runs respectively as the team scored 207 for 8. Chasing the total, Irani Club started playing positively and kept up with the asking run rate.

However, the team lost wickets at regular intervals. By the time they reached 197, they had lost nine wickets. The last pair did its best to save the match but failed to secure win for Irani Club, who lost the match by 10 runs. Sargam Vishwakarma and Asad Khan scalped four and two wickets respectively.
