Mohun Bagan in final

In the end, Mohun Bagan kept their nerves to shoot down Dempo 5-4 in tie-breaker after the teams were locked 2-2 after 120 minutes.

A match which had all the ingredients of a classic encounter, turned into a battle of fists. Trouble started after Ranti Martins hacked down Jose Raimerz Barreto inside the Dempo half.

As Mohun Bagan players started protesting, PC Lalawmpuiya, who had come in for Gautam Debnath after the lemon break, punched Roberto Mendes Silva. After that it was free for all and the match was put on hold for five minutes.

After reason prevailed, both teams were reduced to 10 men as Martins and Lalawmpuiya saw red.
