With many farmers demanding a 50% increase, the state government will hold talks in this regard with farmer samitis, once the Bhatta episode cools down. The hike could be between 25% and 30%.

Meanwhile, the police have not made any headway in nabbing farmer leader Manvir Singh Tevatia and the other accused farmers, who are still at large. Many farmers claim that Tevatia is planning to hold a hunger strike in Delhi from Saturday. The state government had also announced a reward of R50,000 on Tevatia’s arrest.
