Wednesday evenings have never been so good! The Capital’s new breed of bars and lounges have come up with a great concept that makes sure you party hard even on a weeknight.
The latest one offering unforgettable Mediterranean Mosaic with a dash of glitter on a Wednesday evening is the Olive Bar and Kitchen, for the next three months to come.
The series was kick started with fashion designer Ranna Gill showcasing her Moroccan collection at the bar that had the perfect ambience with swaying drapes, flaming drinks, flavoured hookas and, not to forget, the sumptuous starters.
And it wasn’t surprising to see that most of the Capital’s stiletto clad brigade (including Gill), dressed in long flowing kaftans, a la Moroccan style, at this do. “I picked up this golden coloured kaftan during one of my trips to Morocco a couple of years back. And the best thing is that it never goes out of fashion,” announced Nadia Schmid, wife of the Swiss Counsellor Bruno Schmid, who came along with Paul Steinmetz, Ambassador of Luxembourg.
Dressed in chappals and a black shirt that he picked up from the streets in Marrakesh, AD Singh of Olive Bar and Kitchen went on to talk about his experiences of driving around in Morocco where, he added, “Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are greatly admired”.
Known for party hopping, the Capital’s swish set made sure that they moved to Olive after the Bovet launch. Those spotted included Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor, fashion designer Manish Arora, Laila Rajpal and Sheetal Ansal, besides other P3Ps.
Singh, known to be a perfect host, made sure that there was unlimited supply of food and alcohol. Now that’s exactly what Delhiites needed to raise their spirits on a weeknight!
