The nightlong stand off between militants and security forces at a local mosque in Tujan village in Pulwama ended with the killing of two militants on Sunday morning.

Police said that the slain militants belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen and were shot in a ‘surgical’ operation without causing damage to the mosque.
The slain militants were identified as Khursheed Ahmed Rather alias Zubair and Nazir Ahmed Dar alias Erfan. Khurshid.
While, Khursheed was the company commander of the terrorist outfit, Nazir returned from Pakistan two months back, after spending eight years there.
