It was no quirk of fate that prompted actor-producer-director Dev Anand to shoot the movie Mr Prime Minister about the hung Parliament in the backdrop of quake-hit Kutch on January 26, 2001.

While inaugurating an ice-cream parlour in Ahmedabad on Saturday, the veteran actor said, "There seems to be a special link with Gujarat."

The evergreen hero, who preferred to be present in Ahmedabad among all other places for the premier of his latest film, recalled that his film Guide was also shot in the erstwhile princely state of Limdi 40 years back.

He said his latest film is the story of the comman man, women, youths, the rich and the poor. "It is topical. It is about democracy and most timely," he added.

The matinee idol said he does not believe in blowing his own trumpet, it is for the viewers to judge. "If you like it, give a clap and smile. And, if you don't, I'll come back and produce another film on someothet film".
