Mumbai unit gets new BJP President

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday, replaces Madhu Chavan with Gopal Shetty as the city's new BJP president.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday removed Madhu Chavan as its Mumbai unit President whose appointment to the post raised the hackles of its senior leader Gopinath Munde leading to his resignation from all party posts.

"Gopal Shetty has been appointed as Mumbai President in place of him (Madhu Chavan)," state president of BJP Nitin Gadkari said.
