Khushi Ram (50), a resident of Turkman Gate, died after taking aluminium phosphate on Tuesday morning, police said.

Though he was not a qualified doctor, he had been running a clinic in the locality.

Police said he was living alone and having an illicit relationship with a woman which his family resented.

His wife and three children were living separately.

In another incident, a 35-year-old man stabbed his wife to death in Nabi Karim area on Monday night after a verbal dual broke out between them over his drinking habits.

Tilak Raj stabbed 26-year-old Rameshwari several times, killing her on the spot. He has been arrested.

The couple got married five years ago and have two children.
