Muslim Muttaheda Mahaz, a Muslim Front, today urged Muslims and secular-minded people to extend their support to TDP in the elections on the basis of its performance in Andhra Pradesh.

"If you compare TDP with Congress, the former is far better than the latter under whose regime the Muslims were treated very badly", Mahaz convenor and Chief Editor of Urdu daily "Rahnuma-e-Deccan", Syed Vicaruddin told repoters here.

"We want to direct Muslim community to extend their support to ruling TDP which has taken various measures for the welfare of minorities in the state", he said.

Lauding the pre-poll assurance by Chief Minsiter N Chandrababu Naidu of providing three per cent reservation for Muslims, Vicaruddin, who recently met the TDP chief, said "his approach towards Muslim is fair and he has done a lot for the welfare of Muslim in the state".

"However, he (Naidu) committed some mistake out of political compulsion, but TDP policies towards minorities were appreciable", Vicaruddin said.
