Chitra in her complaint to the police had alleged that Revathi Vasudevan and Nadira Banu, juniors of Shanmugham and another mutt counsel Y Thyagarajan, had recently gone to the sub-jail where Subramaniam has been lodged and attempted to "bribe" besides "threatening" him to change his confessional statement reportedly implicating the Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati in the murder case.
Admitting the petition, Justice KP Sivasubramanian issued notice to the Tamil Nadu Government and posted it for hearing to March 3.
Chitra had also alleged that the two women lawyers had met her husband on the instructions of Shanmugham and Thyagarajan.
Police had registered an FIR against Revathi Vasudevan and Nadira Banu based on Chitra's complaint.
