Name it, Net it!
More and more people are taking online lessons on cooking and even wearing a sari! Kirti Mehta goes net surfing...india Updated: Jan 09, 2009 18:25 IST
In our extremely busy lives, we hardly find time to do what is close to our hearts — like cooking a new dish, or getting a new hairdo or just learning how to play the guitar! Don’t despair.
YouTube gives you an easy e-learning option where users upload the videos on various subjects ranging from cooking to workouts and well, also wearing a sari.
Not to mention your guitar lessons! This visual step-by-step process is helping many a Delhiite fulfil their dream. Karan Thapar, 23, second engineer with Maersk Line, has been an avid user of these lessons. Not only does he learn his notes but other things, too. “I always wanted to learn the guitar but never had time,” says Karan. “When I asked a friend to teach me, he suggested these online classes. In fact, I bought the guitar only after I logged onto YouTube.”
Joeleen Gomes, 24, an MBA student, is also gaga over these uploads — once, when her mother was away and she desperately needed to wear a sari, the YouTube sari-draping lessons helped her do that!
IT guys familiar with e-learning appreciate this trend. Ashish Raina, 25, senior quality assistant with Pitney Bowes MapInfo, says, “e-learning is not new, but with YouTube, it’s different, as they have videos to learn from — you can hear and see and thus learn faster.”
