"The great victory has a significance and is not limited to Tamil Nadu," he told reporters, congratulating the people of Tamil Nadu.

Asked if he believed that AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa will make Tamil Nadu a developed state like Gujarat in the coming years, Modi said, "I have seen her dedication to Tamil Nadu, commitment for the development of Tamil Nadu. So, I am sure she will contribute to a great extent."

Modi, who is here to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government under Jayalalithaa, also said he would call on actor Rajinikant, who is admitted to a private hospital here for a recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems.
