National Law Day award for Kazmi

ADVOCATE-GENERAL of UP, SMA Kazmi, a senior advocate of Allahabad High Court, was conferred with the National Law Day Award. The award was given to him by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at a programme organised by the Indian Council of Jurists, All India Bar Association and Legal Information Institute, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the Law Day.

The award was given to him by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at a programme organised by the Indian Council of Jurists, All India Bar Association and Legal Information Institute, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the Law Day.

Out of the 10 recipients of National Law Day Award, Kazmi was the only person from UP. He was given this award for his outstanding contribution in the field of constitutional law.

Giving this information, Additional Advocate General, UP Adish C Aggarwala, others those who received this award included Union Law Minister, Hans Raj Bharadwaj for legal affairs, Justice (ret) RC Lahoti, former chief justice of India for administration of justice and Attorney General of India Milon Kumar Banerjee for jurisprudence.

Aggarwala is also chairman of the All India Bar Association, India Legal Information Institute and convenor of Indian Council of Jurists.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister launched India Legal Information Institute’s website- www.indlii. The website is accessible free of charge, containing central and states’ institutes, Supreme Court and all High Courts judgements and other legal information.
