SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT of Police (SSP) Raja Srivastav said here on Sunday that public awareness was necessary to deal with traffic menace.
Speaking at a seminar, he laid stress on the better use of technology and raise awareness about traffic menace. He called for introducing the latest technology with the cooperation of the common man to check the traffic problem.
Raja said, “It is necessary to widen the roads because of increasing pressure of traffic.” Encroachments on both sides of the road aggravated the problems, he added and appealed to traders to take initiative to remove the encroachments. Calling for better cooperation between the development authority and the municipal corporation for developing parking lot and remove encroachment, he admitted that shortage of policemen was a hindrance in controlling the traffic.
Speaking on the occasion, local MLA RMD Agrawal said that only the local people could solve the traffic problem. He assured the residents should their support.
