The beauty mantra of Miss Beautiful Skin-2006 is to ‘Be happy and love yourself!’ Little make-up is “tooooooo much” grimaces Neha Ahuja. And, she would know! Be it a party or any big occasion, she prefers wowing all with her glowing skin sans any trace of make-up.

Revealing her beauty formula she told HT Lucknow Live, “Exfoliation and moisturising is a must. I am very obsessive about myself and it keeps me conscious about my skin 24x7.”
Presently, occupied with a hectic schedule, she is unable to get a good sleep but advises that seven hours of sound sleep is very necessary with zero makeup. “When you step out in the sun, don’t forget to use a sunscreen lotion.
I never fail to use it when I go out whether it be scorching heat in summer or cold in winters. Best is to be natural without make-up. In big fashion shows you can’t avoid make-up so I take it off as soon as possible and let my skin breathe,” says Neha.
What about beauty products of international brands?
“It’s a wrong perception that foreign brands are better. There are many good Indian products and moreover, I prefer the Indian ones as they understand our skin and India climatic conditions than the foreign brands.”
Do food and workouts help? “Food is the major factor. One should eat lots of leafy vegetables and cut-down on spices. I love chaat but only have it when it’s prepared at home in the right proportion. Workouts helps but it’s for overall conditioning.”
Losing our on votes in Miss India was heartbreaking for her. “Had I lost on voting by panel of judges I would had been satisfied but being voted out was unacceptable to me. I was under so much stress and remained unconscious for quite some time afterwards, but life goes on,” she recalls.
A trained dance she has started learning kathak. She was spotted by Shyamak Davar during a summer fun camp and then learnt under him. She was also with VIVA band for quiet sometime.
A proposal for a musical video is being worked out and she soon she will be moving to tinsel town to try her luck at acting. “I want to learn acting first then, go for some offer,” she says but prefers to keep mum about any offers she may already have.
A trained fashion designer she has worked on many projects and wants to focus on designing. On the recent controversies of wardrobe malfunction she says:
“My fashion designing knowledge comes handy for me. I know what inner garment is to be worn and never fail to check the dress before walking down the ramp.”
She says that carelessness is the only reason for such ‘mishaps’. So, what about those who have earned ‘instant fame’ with these accidents? “Ya… can’t say,” she signs off with a beaming smile.
