NIA to file chargesheets in two cases this month: behara

The cases in which chargesheets would be filed by the end of this month are the burning of a Tamil Nadu state owned bus at nearby Kalamassery on September 9, 2005, in which T Nazeer, alleged Let operative and accused in bangalore blast case and Soofiya Madani, wife of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, another accused in the Bangalore blast case, are among the accused and the SIMI meeting case held at Binanipuram near aluva, NIA Operations Head, IGP Loknath Behara, told a television channel here.

Behara said there was a 'Pakistan link' in the Kashmir recruitment case in which in which four keralites were killed in kashmir in encounter with security forces in October 2008, Behara said.

Abdul Rehaman, a Paksitan national, had operated from Hyderabad to recruit keralites for militant activities.

T Nazeer was also an accused in this case. There were no legal tangles in the taking over the of the case relating to the chopping of the right hand of Prof T J Joseph, a lecturer of the Newman college in July this year, he said adding the centre's clearance was being awaited.

The NIA could gather lot of information after questioning David Coleman Headley, the Pakistan origin US militant linked to 26/11 mumbai attacks, he said adding more information needs to be gathered. Behara, however, declined to say anything on the case relating to the frequent foregin trips of IGP Tomin J Thachankery, who was suspended from service for undertaking a trip to gulf without seeking the government's permission.
