The fire broke out on Saturday at the factory located in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, when 13 workers were sleeping in the dormitory of the factory. Three workers managed to escape, local police said.

The factory is a two-story building with a total area of 300 square metres. The ground floor building is a workshop and the second floor is used as employee dormitory, Xinhua news agency reported.

The fire has been put out and investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

On Thursday, a fierce fire at a commercial building in East China's Zhejiang Province had killed 15 people.
