NLFT(B) ultras kill 2 GAIL employees in Tripura

Sujan Saha and Harendra Malakar were killed when its survey party was attacked by NLFT (B) ultras in West Tripura district.

Two Gas Authority of India Ltd employees, including a surveyor, were killed when its survey party was attacked by NLFT (B) ultras in West Tripura district on Tuesday, police said.

The GAIL team was ambushed by the National Liberation Front of Tripura (Biswamohan group) ultras at Badaniapara in Atharamura hill range of the district around 8.30 am, they said.

The attack was repulsed by jawans of the 5th battalion of Tripura State Rifles who were escorting the GAIL members. The ultras fled the spot and a search operation was launched to nab them, police said.

The victims have been identified as Surveyor Sujan Saha and Harendra Malakar.
