Having ruled for a decade, the MNF faces considerable anti incumbency sentiment, but the Congress – whose leader and ex-chief minister Lalthanhawla has serious corruption charges against him – is hardly in a position to take advantage of it.

The buzz is that this time no party will win an absolute majority.
