No ?fuchha? tag for IET newcomers

FOR NEWCOMERS at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Anubhati-2005 was a completely new experience because from now on, the tag of ?fuchhas? (freshers) will disappear. The function, Anubhati-2005, started with lighting of the lamps by the dignitaries and later ?Saraswati vandana? was performed by the students. The tempo picked up after welcome speeches by Director Prof LS Yadav, Registrar SK Shukla, Dean, Students Welfare Dr Amrika Singh and Proctor SK Srivastav.

FOR NEWCOMERS at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Anubhati-2005 was a completely new experience because from now on, the tag of ‘fuchhas’ (freshers) will disappear.

The function, Anubhati-2005, started with lighting of the lamps by the dignitaries and later ‘Saraswati vandana’ was performed by the students. The tempo picked up after welcome speeches by Director Prof LS Yadav, Registrar SK Shukla, Dean, Students Welfare Dr Amrika Singh and Proctor SK Srivastav.

A series of short programmes comprising skits and plays had been planned for the audience.

The students’ performances were appreciated by the gathering. The freshers’ party was well-attended by IET officials. The freshers were told about the institute’s traditions and the high discipline which they are expected to maintain.

Real fun started with a dance sequence from the film Bunty aur Babli, performed by Rashmi Raman (civil engineering) and Monica Gupta (chemical engineering). The performance enthralled the audience so much so that it appeared for a moment that even the audience would be a part of the performers.

The fun continued in the next programme when a group of six boys sang parodies from different films.

The singers made the audience burst into laughter as they sang the distorted form of some songs like the title song from Bunty aur Babli, Dus bahane and Mai nikla gaddi le ke. Formal introduction of the students from all the branches was also done and now it is sure that the label of ‘fuchha’ would not haunt the new comers.
