The announcement comes at a time when the government is struggling to come up with a local’s policy, which has been delayed since the formation of the state in 2000. Das remark drew widespread criticism in the neighbouring state with former Bihar chief minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad calling it a divisive announcement and accusing both Raghubar Das and the BJP chief Amit Shah of jeopardizing the nation’s unity.

Formed along with Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand in the same year, Jharkhand still doesn’t have a local’s policy which is impeding recruitment of people in all government services.
