Bua Singh directed officials to deal with criminals and communal forces with an iron hand. He said criminals with political links would not be spared and they would be put behind bars.

He indicated that the police department had drawn up a comprehensive programme to eliminate Naxalites’ network in three districts of Varanasi zone, including Sonbhadra, Chandauli and Mirzapur.
Bua Singh directed officials to deal with criminals and communal forces with an iron hand. He said criminals with political links would not be spared and they would be put behind bars. Admitting the sensitivity of the Indo-Nepal border, Singh said a comprehensive action plan had been drawn up to check infiltration.
Reviewing the law and order situation at the Circuit House on Tuesday, Singh said the police headquarters would go online for video conferencing and for passing information from one area to another to control crime. He said recruitment in the PAC would be started in Chandauli and Sonebhadra districts to deal with Naxalites.
Singh said under a special drive launched on April 20, 11,000 criminals were nabbed. Another 5,000 criminals would be arrested soon, he said.
He said hardcore criminals like Munna Bajrangi, along with others, were on the police hit-list. Singh said 15 hardcore criminals were gunned down in various parts of the State since the launch of the drive against crime and two police officials had also lost their lives in encounters.
He said intelligence network should be strengthened. He directed officials to pay attention to intelligence gathering so that crimes could be nipped in the bud. He said he had reviewed the law and order situation of six zones and expressed satisfaction over the situation in Gorakhpur.
Singh directed officials to meet expectations of the people.
They were also directed to step up the image-building exercise of the department to restore confidence of the people.
To a question, he said that after taking charge, he had planned to hold-review meetings at zonal levels to give a message to the society regarding the alertness of police. He repeatedly said that criminals having rewards on their head should be booked by May 20.
